Motorola has a wide range of handsets that span the budget-friendly to premium spectrum. Today, the company is announcing it’s expanding its portfolio with an addition to its budget-friendly phones — the Moto G Play (2023).
Available in the US and Canada, the Moto G Play (2023) has a few noteworthy features including a triple-sensor camera setup. The main sensor is a 16MP shooter, while the macro and depth sensors are both 2MP. There’s also a single selfie camera that offers 5MP.
These cameras are assisted by a variety of AI-enable features such as Auto Smile capture, Smart Composition, and Dual Capture.
Something else that’s interesting is the screen. More commonly seen on mid-tier phones, the display on the Moto G Play has a 90Hz refresh rate. Its 6.5-inch HD+ display delivers a 20:9 aspect ratio, which should be nice for watching videos or playing games.
In addition, the phone has a 5000mAh battery that Motorola claims can last for three days with a single charge. As for the wired charging speed, it looks like the device supports 10W.
It also offers 32GB of built-in storage. But if that’s not enough, the expandable storage on the Moto G Play (2023) will allow you to increase storage up to 512GB with a microSD card.
The Moto G Play (2023) comes in at a price of $169.99 for both the US and Canada. It will also launch on the same day for both countries — January 12, 2023. If you’re on the US side, you can get the phone from Best Buy, Amazon, or Motorola.com. Conversely, Canadians will need to go to Motorola.ca to get their hands on the economical handset.
